Cushion Corner

My roomie just asked me what made me give this title, "Cushion Corner". If you guessed what my roomie guessed, I would say I am honoured (Btw, he said, its a place where we can relax :D)

After having decided to start posting on blogger, there were some initial surprises for me..... I got an instruction which said "Create a blog in 3 easy steps".... Well, easy always sounds nice.....

Step 1 - Create an account : hahahaha..... very simple.... Lo bana liya..... a matter of just a few seconds....

Step 2 - Choose a Title : hmmm...... This one's tricky.... Willl come back to it...

Step 3 - Choose a template : I saw around 8 templates..... Liked none.... Chose none.... But I have no clue how this template got chosen.... Is it a default thing or something????

Back to the Title "Chaos".... This one's gotta be different.... Every decent person comes up with a good title..... Atleast they sound nice..... and I sat thinking..... thinking.....thinking...... and got irritated......and remembered I used to get very very irritated by something when I was very small...... and then it all came back to me in a flash....

Those days, my sis and my aunt derived immense pleasure in irritating me when I cried (which used to be like once/minute then)..... One of their favourite ways to do this was call me...... Kishaaaaann..... Sofa Cushion........ Sewing Machine......

And hence was created, my blog name .... What was originally to be "Kishan Corner" (Designed on the lines of Kshitij and SF corners, which carries all the latest happenings and notices of Kshitij and SF), hence became Cushion corner.....

Well.... If you don't find the name funny enough, do let me know.... I will pass the message on to my sis & aunt ;)

P.S.. "Chaos" - Anything ranging from a small problem(argument, verbal fight) to an interhall event proceedings....

Finally Blogging

I have always loved reading blogs. After a million thoughts about owning one myself (Phew!!! A tough decision aint it???), and rejecting the idea Nine Lakhs Ninety Nine Thousand Nine Hundred and Ninety Nine times, I am finally here.

What took me soo long???
Let me give you the split of why I rejected the idea of creating a blog of my own. One-thirds of the time (Three Lakhs Thirty Three Thousand Three Hundred and Thirty Three times to be precise), I sat down to think of something nice that I could write about. Another one-third comprised of those times when I read a "Fundoo Banda's Fundoo Blog". The other one-third (Viewers Please Note: also an easy excuse when some one asks you,"tera acads kyon makh raha hain"?), extra acads mien itna time lag gaya ki aur kuch kaam karne ka na "tempo" tha, na samay.

Ever since I read the first blog of my life, I have tried hard to figure out why people write blogs. I came across some people who had opinions to give
- Some are gifted "Creative Writers" and blogs are an easy way out to show off their skills.(General Opinion)
- As a distinguished Psycho Alumni of kgp pointed out, You could make powerful statements through blogs and bring about social change.
- One of the easiest way to open your self up in front of others.
- It is for those who do not have anyone to confess to. (Vijay, one of the coolest dudes at kgp, my wingie, and more importantly a very very patient guy like my dad)

I am here for a reason that coincides with none of the above. After a series of "makhau mid-sems", after a long rest, after a deep thought and after a brief retrospection, I am in a state full of mixed feelings. And yeah, some posts on Chintan Thakkar's "Chintans Musings" ignited the spark in me. So here I am, blogging.

P.S. This section will regularly feature on my posts to explain all the kgp lingo that has come into me and have been used in this blog. I have marked them in quotes.
"Fundoo" - Super, Intellectual, cool.
"Makh" - Doing a work given to you very badly.
"Makhau" - Loser.
"Acads" - Used as a proxy for Cumulative Grade Point Average.
"Banda" - Guy.
"Tempo" - Doing things with passion and enthusiasm; also, U.S.P of Patel.
