Cheetah and the Deer - "Not so" Concluding Part

The Cheetah thought he saw her nod. But he wasnt sure, and given that the deer was limping, it could have very much been a wrong step from her. But then, to cheetah's and to everyone's surprise, the deer spoke!

Now we all know what the Deer spoke. What the hell! We ll still write what she said.

The deer said "Hey! I amazed by the way you run. Boy! Now I know the difference between a cat that pretends and the cheetah that doesnt have to try too hard. But I love it that I am running, and I am nearly at my best speed. But you notice my ankle, its still slightly sore, and I think I could run faster. You could catch me here, but i think you wouldnt have caught me when I am at my best. Well actually, I dont even know if I can run better than this. But the ankle you see, is making me skeptical".

The cheetah looked into her eyes, and he knew she was brilliant. He knew he'd never seen something as beautiful, and he knew he wanted to chase her the right way [Isnt that obvious given that he got her running first and waited patiently for this to happen?]. He looked into her eyes again, and he heard her mouth "No interpreting signs, Cheetah!". And he decided to back out, let her run and live her life her way, and let her be caught at an appropriate time by the appropriate cheetah.

The deer wished she was right here. She really didnt know, but she had to make a call and she thought she was being frank with whatever she'd said. "He was a very good cheetah afterall", she said with a sigh.

Wait a minute! Now something played in the Cheetah's mind, and it was nothing but a repeat of his parting moments. It played again, and Cheetah thought he saw something. It played again, and the Cheetah thought he had this one solved. He turned back to look at the Deer running. She was looking back, with her beautiful eyes looking pale [Nevertheless, still very beautiful]. He turned again, in the opposite direction. He was happy he gave the Deer what she wanted.

But like we all know, the Cheetah is smart, not really slender, but smart! As good as he is in keeping up his promises, his mamma cheetah always thought he would make it big in the field of law.

While the readers are open to interpret this story the way they want to, there certainly is just one ending to this story that the author has in mind. That will feature in the epilogue. But the author is now bored of writing, so he plans to take a long holiday.

Whats in a Name?!

I know this person called Amrita Maitra back at my college. While I have known her for a few months, I only noticed that her name had a nice curious property in it when i was staring at my inbox. The curious thing about the name is that her second name is a jumbled form of her first name (or vice versa).

I googled for more such examples and turns out google really aint that brainy afterall [or maybe, i dont really search effectively]...

I checked with AM and told her about my discovery, and how it was not very easy to find more names with this funda... She said, "I have a friend called Nisha Sinha :)... But yeah, I am not sure if there are names with more letters than in mine."

What do you think?

Gandhiji's Talisman

"I will give you a talisman. Whenever you are in doubt, or when the self becomes too much with you, apply the following test. Recall the face of the poorest and the weakest man [woman] whom you may have seen, and ask yourself, if the step you contemplate is going to be of any use to him [her]. Will he [she] gain anything by it? Will it restore him [her] to a control over his [her] own life and destiny? In other words, will it lead to swaraj [freedom] for the hungry and spiritually starving millions? Then you will find your doubts and your self melt away."

So simple, so true.... and we wonder why the recent suicides at kgp really happened?! Probably, they never saw anything apart from their syllabus in their school textbooks...

Life, Troughs and Kharagpur

They say Life is full of ups & downs. Who can deny that? How many times have we felt on top of the world today and found ourselves hit the rock bottom tomorrow?

There's this other school of thought which says "Whats life without challenges?"... I sported this on my Gtalk status message once and Tuhin Chatterjee replied, "Peaceful Life". Now who can deny that?

We all love it when life's smooth sailing and when we are down, we look upto something which can cheer us up and get us out of the mess.

I am currently in one such mess and have been wondering for a while as to what can get me out of this. This morning, when I signed on my attendance register at office, I realized that I had just about two weeks to complete this internship and then I get back to campus! and now, I know for sure what ll pull me out of the mess. I already feel the positive vibe.

I have always maintained that I love Kharagpur for some reason. People often ask me why [on earth]?!I have never been able to answer this before, but I guess now I know why..

Marriages, Heaven, Television and Dilemma

They say "Marriages are made in heaven". If you are a statistician however, you will firmly believe you can reject the null hypothesis ;)

Rakhi Sawant seems to be a keen statistician herself. Not only has she rejected the null hypothesis, she is all set to prove that marriages are made on television.

Well, my mom's totally into the concept, watching the program with a lot of enthusiasm. So much, that she cant hear what I am saying when the show is on. Feeling really deprived of the love and to catch mom's attention, I decided to drop my name in the competition too.

But as they say, life is never as smooth sailing. Now, my sister says she ll disown me :(

Pradbose Quote

We all agree that G-Talk status messages have more functions than just conveying the status of the person. Perhaps, the messages are getting funkier by the day and provides a good time pass when in between a boring Java Class.

A good friend (a recent friend too) had a nice status message which reminded me of how my gran talks to me off late. The message read "One of the King Georges of England--I forget which--once said that a certain number of hours' sleep each night--I cannot recall at the moment how many--made a man something, which for the time being has slipped my memory."

Dont laugh! You are gonna get there in just around (70-"your age") yrs.

Planning, Uncertainty and Life

They say Life is full of uncertainty and one needs to plan it well to counter these uncertainty. Well,
lets say I plan my life to reduce the uncertainty, cant an uncertain event just crop up and render my plans useless?

Lets just say, "Life is uncertain".
